What this tool is offered under

There is no account and no payment, so there is not much to agree to. These five points are the whole of it.

Last updated

  1. Analyze pages you are allowed to analyze

Only publicly accessible URLs are permitted. A deep audit obeys the target site’s robots.txt and the crawl-delay it declares. Do not use this tool against systems you have no right to probe.

  2. Provided as-is, with no warranty

The score measures implementation quality against documented guidance. It is not a ranking prediction, and no tool can give you one. The methodology page is explicit about every limit, and you should read it before acting on a number.

  3. Rate limits apply

Requests are capped per client so one visitor cannot exhaust capacity for everyone else. A 429 response states the limit actually in effect and when it resets, rather than quoting a fixed figure that may not be the one being enforced.

  4. Independent, and not affiliated

SEOLens Evidence is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Google, Ahrefs, Semrush or any other company. Criteria are derived from published documentation by search-engine owners and standards bodies, which is cited on every finding.

  5. The rulebook is published, even when the source is not

Category weights, every threshold, which values are heuristics rather than requirements, and an explicit list of what cannot be determined are all documented on the methodology page. A score you cannot interrogate is a score you should not trust.

The methodology documents every threshold behind a score, and privacy covers what is and is not collected.
